  { Parker } has been brought back to life!  The base has been finished in a warm mocha brown. Literally like a frappuccino from Starbucks! The carved detailed drawers were done in a creamy off white and distressed to perfection to show all the details.  Then the drawers were glazed with the base color to tie the piece together.  And of course it has it's jewelry...chunky, vintage, substantial oil rubbed bronze hardware.

  The glazing really gives this piece uniqueness.  It brings warmth to the piece and adds a classic, elegant feel.  This versatile piece is ideal for a dresser, flat screen TV stand, a buffet to store table linens and plates, or an entry piece to show off to all your friends as they walk in;)  What I love about this piece is it is classic, elegant and neutral but at the same time it makes a statement.  It will draw every one's eyes to it and will fit with nearly any color scheme.

  This piece is finished in a light khaki and then distressed and dry brushed with a warm taupe.  The dry brushing allows for every detail to really pop and be noticed.  It also gives the piece great texture and character with that new 'old world' feel.  The four top drawers have detailed oil rubbed bronze hardware and then the two knobs on the larger drawer add a pop of color with a light blue and bronze to tie them all together.

  This charming versatile piece (of course!) can be used as so many things. I invision it as an entryway piece where you can set your keys or store them in the drawers.  It would be where you can place fresh flowers in the summer and apocarathy jars filled with items for every season.  It can also be used a desk where you pay your bills or even for a teen study at.  Without all those drawers it will stay much cleaner.....trust me!  A vanity can be made from this by simple hanging a fabulous wall mirror and getting a seat.  It could also be used as a decor piece to add character to your home without being overbearing.  Again using fresh flowers or any seasonal decorations on top would be perfect.

  We are back in action my friends!! Back with ridiculous named pieces at great prices. When I picked up this piece the guy told me "it cleans up real nice with some Old English"....I laughed inside because he had no idea what I was about to do to it and the fact that I loved all the nicks and divets! Some people!! Anyway....this piece was completed in my favorite ( and most requested color ) a cobalt-like blue. I get asked alllllll the time if I would consider selling my personal and most favorite piece { El Tigre }. I have been offered over $550 for it and said " (sigh, sigh, sigh)...no"! I only paid $15 for it too!

  So I decided to do a similar technique on this piece with the same color. The top was (of course) finished with Reduniture's Signature Aged-WoodTechnique and then painted and distressed. I LOVE the richness of this piece yet the funkiness. It definitely adds color to the room but isn't overbearing. This piece looks like "I'm so old my paint is just wearing away" naturally.

{ Square Up } Large Dresser

  I decided to go a bit more modern on this large dresser but still keeping that Reduniture style.  I finished this piece in a crisp white then added the dark gray double pin stripe detailing.  It's clean and fresh yet still has that vintage kinda feel. 

  This piece has a large storage area in the middle so I had to through in my pop color.  I chose a jewel-toned turquoise to add some more character to this piece.  If your were to use this piece as a buffet, it would be ideal for storing large bowls and platters in there.  If you were to use this as a TV stand, you could add some baskets to hold your DVDs or blankets.  If used as a dresser, you could store your winter clothes or summer clothes in there with or without baskets......just endless I tell ya'!

  Here's what the piece looked like before...in really good shape, HEAVY, and chunky true vintage hardware.  It just lacked personality....and Reduniture style;)

  This rad little desk was finished in a creamy tan and then authentically distressed around the drawer fronts and bottom moldings.  The distressing was done very, very subtly but enough to show off the shape.  The top was finished with Reduniture's Signature Aged-Wood Technique and highlighted with a custom stain I mixed.  This really amplified the top and gave it tons of depth.  

  As you can see below, we kept the old hardware and sprayed them in an oil rubbed bronze.  I didn't like the look of the knobs before because it just looked too busy, but I LOVE them now.  They added a lot of character to the desk and gave it a slight nautical feel. 

Last Spotlight Of The Year!

o ur last spotlight of 2011 is here!!! And it couldn't be a better one.  If you are obsessed with feathers like I am you will be so PUMPED to have a new BFF.  Up in the Sky Creations was created by Shanna in sunny CA.  She is the "pregnant and barefoot, live off the land" kinda girl!...Seriously, that's a direct quote from her when we met up for some yummy wine recently.  She is inspired by nature, her beautiful girls... and as a true hippie, music! 

   I have been wanting to spotlight her because her pieces are a mix of natural elements, leather, hemp and metal.  She puts her pieces together very well and uberly chic...Not sure if "uberly" is a word but neither WAS Reduniture..until now!  Everyone did/does the feather extension in their hair but not the single earring feather hair extension.  I bought a gray feathered one with silver chain and a gorgeous leaf-like charm at the end. I have worn it a ton already and every time I wear it I get asked "where did you get that" and receive TONS of compliments. 

  See how the single earring feather hair extension just peaks through?  I LOVE that she thought to add charms and beads to them too.  I have long hair so it looks AMAZING with the feathers, chain and charm that randomly peeks out throughout the day.  Best of all....HER PRICES!  Honestly, any of her pieces would be a great present to give or have as they are under $20.  All you need is one piece to accessorize your entire outfit!  I can't say it enough about the uniqueness of each piece......I haven't even gotten to her headband yet though!!!!  These are so TDF (to die for)!

  Everyone thinks hemp and leather headbands are only for hippies but that's what makes her stuff so amazing!  You can pull off a leather feather headband with skinny jeans, heels and an over sized sweater like ... { snap } that!  I actually wore my leather and cobalt blue { fav color } feather headband to my family's Thanksgiving dinner with leggings, boots and a stripped cardigan/sweater.  So basically you NEED to go to her etsy site (buy local!...or at least support a crafter!), browse and BUY!....Insiders tip...she "may" be adding new headbands very soon to her etsy page too!...ok I just spoke with her=)
