The Nude Dirty Blonde turned "knotty"!  I'm sure many of you remember her being nude, she didn't have any hardware, and now she is knotty.  I stained and treated the dresser top and bottom molding piece to look like knotty alder wood.  It turned out amazing!  She then got my professional distressing treatment, some hardware and, of course, many coats of clear protectant.  What do you think?

Re-Dun

    I am going to start off by explaining Reduniture....I take pieces of furniture aka that ugly eye sore in your house and transform it into the hot gossip on your street...Here's how Reduniture works... 

1.  I can transform pieces you currently own.

    If you have a specific idea of what your want your piece to be, I can customize it and make all your dreams come true (OK at least for your furniture).  If you have absolutely no idea what you want, I can give you my ideas for a piece and you will then do what I say!...Totally kidding!  If you have furniture you just want out of your house, I'll take those too!  Now....what sets me apart...

  OK....Let's get something straight....just because you "distress" (which you don't do correctly anyway) a nightstand you recently painted white (how original) doesn't mean it is shabby chic!....I might slap the next person that uses that.  Also, just because you painted a, let's say bookshelf, black doesn't mean you should quit your day job. 

  I actually take the time to do ALL the work each piece takes.  Let's say I am working on  a dresser for a client who wants me to bring out all the character the piece has by distressing it and aging it....I sand it down to its "bones" aka raw wood, either stain or paint it with at least 2 coats and then sand the ENTIRE (not just the corners!) piece and THEN go back and do my distressing technique.  After that I apply the desired glaze color (which I usually hand mix to get a completely custom color) and then go back and sand it AGAIN!  I repeat this step again and the I apply numerous coats of polyurethane to protect the dresser and ensure it lasts years to come.

  I also use many DIFFERENT techniques to achieve the desired look I am going for.  I don't just do the same thing and say I'm good!  I hand paint designs, etch designs, glaze, distress, and do the prep and finish work correctly.  Oh, and I don't modge-podge some scrap book paper on ANY of my pieces.  Someone slap me if I ever even mention that!....So that is what Reduniture is all about.  Professional, high quality work!

Quatre what?!!!

Can you say Quatre sold!  A great client of mine purchased this table and an end table which is to come.  Oh and she also bought a coffee table too!  She has great taste (I mean she does buy a lot from Reduniture!) and she is open to color and unique pieces....I mean who has a chrome - wood table???!  She is pairing it with 2 plum chairs and 2 silver/blue chairs!  So unique!

Seriously, who do you know that has a Silver table??....I bet there was no answer!  This is a solid oak table transformed into a chrome-quatrefoil table!  Several specialized techniques were used to give the appreance of a chrome table.  The table top trim has a unique carving detail which was totally lost before.  Now it is brought out by the silver and chrome colors.  The table top was hand painted in a quatrefoil pattern and then roughed up!

Totally  unique table stands 30 inches high by 48 inches in diameter.

Nude Dirty Blonde

  Now if you are thinking that I was talking about a human get your head out of the gutter! This isn't that kind of blog....GROSS!  She is a real beauty though.....

See...she is in the nude because she has no hardware.  I have her wardrobe ready to go.  She will be all decked out in her gear in no time.  I also would like to introduce you to Mr. Roboto...

  He has great potential and he is a Bassett!  Why they ever did this to him will remain a mystery.  He will transform into a masculine piece with charcoal grays and black.  Clean and smooth detail!

  I know you have been anxiously awaiting the big debut of the Tuscany dresser but you have to wait one more day!  Tomorrow is going to be a double hitter though.  I will also be posting a new table for sale.  It's name is Mad Metal and I am not giving anymore info on it!  You have to check back and I can guarantee that NO ONE has a table like it.

Not so Neglected anymore

The Neglected isn't so Neglected anymore!It's ready for it's big debut....Are you?

This solid wood piece is HEAVY!  They definitely don't make 'em like this anymore (do I sound like your grandma?).  Come complete with dove-tailed drawers and the two, which look like four, hand carved doors in the middle.  The doors hide the 3 "peek-a-boo I see cobalt blue" sliding drawers.  This white and gray piece will last forever and will fit in anywhere in your house.  It can be used for so much more than just a dresser.  Think about using it as a tv stand and use the drawers to hold your components, blankets, toys, movies, etc.  It could also be used as a buffet to hold table linens, etc.

Newest MemberS of the Family

  I'd like to introduce you to the newest members of the Reduniture family....

 The Neglected

This poor fella was abused and beaten by his previous owner.  Luckily he was rescued by Reduniture and is excited to strat his new life.  Seriously though, this is probably one of the more "unclean" pieces I have seen.  Most people at least wipe them off before we pick them up, but this one is special. 

  This piece is actually in AMAZING shape it just needs a little TLC which I shall give it.  The craftsmanship is old school with dovetailed drawers and 3 very large hideaway drawers in the middle.  I have already gone to work on it and just after sanding it down I was amazed at how much better it looked.  Now, a little of this and a little of that and it will be back in action....and some one's new favorite piece!  Stay tuned for the reveal.

Bucket

This piece has great potential but someone covered it all up with this hideous teal/aqua color.  I think it glows at night.  Bucket , as I like to call it, will make a great night stand or a very useful end table with drawers....Let's see what happens next!

Guess who's back?

  YES! It is I!  Your long lost best friend who takes your old crummy, 1980s honey oak piece of furniture and turns it into your new focal point and conversation piece...I haven't mentioned that if you refer a friend, cousin, sister, your beloved mom-in-law, co-worker or even your very own SWF (think of the 1992 movie Single White Female....more on this later) you get 20% your next order. 

  Anyway..I take old furniture and make it pretty again.  I love to hunt and find pieces that no one wants anymore because their children used it as an art table, their dog chewed the corner or "it's out dated".  I can look past all that and see the finished project in my mind.  "I spy" all the character each piece has and bring it out so that everyone else can notice it.  I even beat up my own furniture on purpose ( a tutorial to come later)!

  If you currently have a piece in your house that you are thinking to replace, send me a picture via text or email and we can figure out what to do with it.  Aren't we all on the band wagon of "going green"?  Why make your husband mad by going out to R.C. Wiley (you know that's where everyone shops here!) and spending $900 on a new "everyone has one" dresser made of pressed wood (crappy wood) that MAY only last you a few years.  Use what you have!  If you were spoiled as a child and didn't have an imagination, look at my portfolio and see what I can imagine.  I have even argued with people to not take the piece to the dump because I could "save" it.  I can repair almost any piece of furniture ( my Dad taught me well)!
